About the Junior Program

Our Junior Program introduces Cleveland’s youngest Poet-Athletes to the power of creativity, play, and teamwork. Designed for students in grades 1–2, this early learning experience lays the foundation for literacy, leadership, and physical activity in a fun, supportive environment.

Each week, students participate in a mix of soccer practices and creative writing sessions, learning how to express themselves through poetry while building teamwork and coordination.

Our Junior Program focuses on developing early reading and writing skills, self-expression, and cooperation—all through play-based learning that keeps kids moving, thinking, and growing.

What Students Learn

Our Junior Program builds essential skills that prepare students in grades 1–2 for long-term success both in and out of the classroom. Every student participates as both a writer and an athlete, discovering how creativity and teamwork can go hand in hand.

Program Schedule

Our Junior Program follows the school calendar, typically running from September to May. Activities take place after school, four days a week, throughout the fall and spring seasons, with optional summer extension opportunities available.

Students participate in soccer year-round, with games typically held on Wednesdays.
