Each spring the SCORES poet-athletes begin the season by learning how to define community. They then explore the issues they see in their community and develop a service project to help fix the issue. This year our poet-athletes collected $225 for a local animal shelter, planted flowers and painted rocks to beautify school gardens, wrote cards to make those in the community smile, and cleaned up their school grounds.
We are so proud of all the hardwork the poet-athletes did throughout the season to help make their community a better place.

Orchard STEM School
Poet-Athletes beautified their school by decorating the area around their new gazebo. Students painted kindness rocks with words of affirmations and added flowers to the area.

Marion Setlzer
Poet-Athletes painted colorful murals in their school hallways to create a joyful atmosphere and brighten up the mood in their school.

Buhrer Dual Language Academy
Poet-Athletes led a donation drive for their local animal shelter. Students collected money and pet supplies and took them to the shelter.
