Bring SCORES Programming to Your School
Cleveland SCORES partners with Cleveland-area schools to provide high-quality, after-school programming that combines poetry, soccer, and service.
Our goal is to help Cleveland students in grades 1–8 build confidence, literacy, and leadership skills through a curriculum that connects creativity, physical activity, and teamwork. SCORES programs are fully aligned with Ohio’s Common Core English Language Arts and Physical Education standards and meet Ohio Afterschool Network quality guidelines.
We currently serve 2,000+ students citywide, offering Junior and Core Programs for grades 1–5, with the opportunity for students to expand into middle school programming in grades 6–8.
Is Your School a Good Fit for SCORES?
We’re looking for Cleveland-area schools with strong leadership, enthusiastic staff, and the space to support both soccer and creative writing sessions on site.
Our ideal SCORES partner school:

Can host after-school programming 4 days/week for 75–90 minutes per session

Has administrative support and a designated school liaison to coordinate with SCORES

Offers outdoor green space for soccer and an indoor classroom for writing workshops

Can recruit two teachers/staff as coaches and participate in training sessions

Has enough interested students to form multiple teams of about 16 students at each level. Ideal schools should have 60+ students in grades 1–2 and 120+ students in grades 3–5
Schools serving students in under-resourced communities or those with limited extracurricular options are especially encouraged to apply.
